North Cottage is just a few minutes walk from historic Cromer Pier, home of the famous end of the pier Pavillion Theatre and Seaside Special show. 

Try your hand at catching the famous Cromer Crab fishing from the pier! 

Cromer is one of 6 beaches in North Norfolk with the prized Blue Flag Award - making it one of the best stretches of sandy coast in the country. Other Blue Flag beaches close by are are Wells-Next-the-Sea, West Runton & East Runton, Sheringham, Mundesley and Sea Palling.

In Cromer you can visit the RNLI museum at the Rocket House and discover about the life of the greatest Lifeboat man ever - Henry Blogg and you can see the current RNLI lifeboat at the end of the pier.

Visitors to North Norfolk can enjoy swimming, paddling, surfing and paddle boarding. The wonderful sea air, walking, bird watching, star gazing in the clear skies, children friendly attractions, visiting historic homes and amazing gardens.

Cromer is the perfect location to celebrate a special birthday with the extended family or a group of friends. There are plenty of pubs and restuarants within a few minutes walk of North Cottage.

North Cottage Cromer is one of the largest self-catering apartment holiday homes in Cromer - just a few minutes walk to all the facilities. It also has the huge benefit of private parking on the gated gravel drive for 4 cars.

Cromer is very well served for shopping and supermarkets. Morrisons, Lidl, The Co-op and Iceland all have large branches, Tesco is in nearby Sheringham (15 mins) and Sainsburys and Waitrose in North Walsham (20 mins). All the major food chains (except Ocado) deliver to Cromer. There is an Argos, Homebase, Boots, Superdrug and many marvellous independent retailers.

North Lodge Park is right outside North Cottage. There's a boating pond, and the North Lodge tea rooms has free to use model boats - they also sell cakes and crepes and the proceeds help volunteers maintain the park. North Lodge Cafe was shortlisted in 2019 as one of the 4 best tea / coffee shops in Norfolk!


Cromer has it's own multi-screen cinema, Cromer Museum is beside the famous St Peter and St Paul Church and can transport you back in time to uncover the history of the fishing village which became a famous seaside resort.






Cromer is on the 'Deep History Coast' a section of coastline that as recently as 8,500 years ago formed a landbridge to continental europe. You can find many fossils on the beach and there's a visitor centre in the town with exhibits.



Cromer is also known for golf. The Royal Cromer Golf Club is just 3 minutes drive away! Golfers from around the world come to experience cliff-top golf at its very best (visitors with a golf handicap welcome).



Further afield you can take the Poppy Line steam train along the coast from Sheringham to Holt (April - October) enjoy boat trips from Blakeney, visit the Georgian market town of Holt, or travel into Norwich (trains run from Cromer station every 60 minutes, journey takes 40 minutes).


One of our personal favourite day trips is to the Old Vicarage Garden at East Ruston which, if you love gardens as much as we do, is a must see. It's a very large garden created from bare fields - it has a fabulous cafe serving tea and cakes. East Ruston is 30 minutes drive (16 miles). There is an admission fee.
