All our guests receive a warm welcome from us personally. If you have any requirements you think we may be able to help with for your stay please contact us in advance and we’ll do our best to help. For example to help a guest we removed furniture from the ground floor bedroom to accommodate medical equipment. At the suggestion of another guest we’ve permanently provided a variable height stool in the ground floor wet room shower. We’ve been asked to remove fragile decorations to assist a family with autistic needs, whatever your request please ask we want to make your stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible.

For deaf or guests with visual impairment the images on our website have alt text and there is an audio description of the accessibility section of this page available – click the image below to listen to the audio.

We’re mindful of creating a comfortable and relaxing space. The house and gardens are filled with air enriching plants and help provide a calming and relaxing environment. The views of the gardens from the house are designed to bring peace. The furnishings are generally natural materials with an emphasis on quality and sustainability.

We’re very happy to talk through any sensory or neurodivergent needs before guests book or arrive, and to make appropriate changes to the house in advance of your stay. If ornaments, decorative items or anything else in the rooms might be unhelpful, just let us know and we’ll remove them before you arrive. We’ve done this for previous guests, and if we know in advance it’s a much calmer arrival for everyone.

We provide a sensory kit with ear defenders for kids, calming fidget toys and a white noise and other calming sounds sleep aid speaker. These items are on the shelves with the fossil collection and children’s book library. Please feel free to borrow them.

We’ve hosted children on the autism spectrum on a number of occasions. We know quiet and calming spaces are important. The living room at North Cottage is a quiet room and the sensory garden with exotic plants has a bench and is set away from the activity of the main garden. The bedrooms are comfortable, have light reducing window coverings and blankets and cushions. The gardens are walled and secure and the gates can be locked if required.

We appreciate the anxiety of travelling with those who require extra consideration and we’re really happy to help – so please get in touch.

North Cottage Cromer is guaranteed pet free, the owners don’t keep any pets and we don’t permit guest pets. This helps create a home where many guests who suffer animal allergies feel safe. We also use natural materials whenever possible – cotton sheets and towels, anti-allergy duvets, and we prefer natural cleaning products. We don’t provide any food products except tea bags, ground coffee, sugar and milk. If you or a member of your group suffers from specific allergies please let us know in advance.
