How to UNLONDON to Cromer by train

The train really is a great way to get to Cromer pretty F A S T.
2 hours, 59 minutes may not sound super fast, but the journey whizzes by, as you speed through some amazing scenery. Try driving from London to Cromer by car in under three hours! There are some great value fares too, especially if you have a railcard and can plan ahead.
The trains are modern, air-conditioned and equipped with wi-fi and charging sockets. Greater Anglia is also renowned for its punctuality.
You won’t see Cromer on the destination boards at London Liverpool Street – you’re looking for Norwich, which is where you’ll change for the Cromer train. Cromer trains are pretty frequent too, so you won’t be hanging around in Norwich for long – although you may want to stop off and take the short walk up to historic Elm Hill, Tombland, the famous Cathedral and marvel at the freshly restored Norwich Castle.
Breathe in!
When you step off the train in Cromer you’ll notice something immediately, especially after leaving London. The sea air! Yes, breathe in. And then take a another deep breath. Within moments of leaving the station you’re in the heart of Cromer. Head down pretty Jetty Street and you’ll see the Hotel de Paris and below the iconic Cromer Pier and of course the sea! Glide Surf school is next to the Pier and fabled North Sea Coffee Company booth just along the prom.
Fancy a Show?
At the end of Cromer Pier is the famous Pavillion Theatre, home to the Summer and Christmas variety shows. At other times of the year the Victorian style theatre hosts many musical tribute acts, shows that are often sold out they’re so popular – so book ahead!
Ready for a drink or a meal? You’re spoilt for choice in Cromer. Our favourites include The Red Lion and Upstairs at No.1, or fish and chips from Mary Jane’s.
Get a Group of Friends Together
The Greater Anglia TV ad features a solitary office worker taking a well-deserved break from the big city. Of course the Greater Anglia Hare mascot is along for the ride too. But escaping London with a group of friends is also a great option.
